Job summary

Daily Wire is seeking a Social Media Video Editor to pull key moments from long-form episodes and craft engaging short-form clips for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and X. You will publish quickly to ride the live news cycle and collaborate with Social Media Managers and Team Leads to meet performance goals.

You will edit across our talent roster, ensuring brand consistency while tailoring each clip to platform-specific formats and audience preferences.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional video editing experience, preferably creating short-form social content.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; After Effects is a plus.
• Strong portfolio showcasing short-form video editing with hooks, pacing, storytelling, and audience retention.
• Deep understanding of platform best practices across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and X.

The Daily Wire Social team turns long-form shows and podcasts into high-performing content for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and X. As a Social Media Video Editor, you'll identify the best moments from full episodes, craft engaging short-form clips, and publish quickly to capitalize on the live news cycle.You'll edit across our talent roster and work closely with Social Media Managers and Team Leads to hit publishing and performance goals. This is a high-output role for editors who combine strong storytelling instincts with a sharp understanding of what drives engagement across social platforms.

Primary Responsibilities

• Edit engaging short-form video clips from long-form podcasts, shows, and live programming for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook and X.
• Optimize every edit for audience retention with strong hooks, tight pacing, and compelling storytelling.
• Format content natively for each platform, ensuring the correct aspect ratios, specs, and viewing experience.
• Create polished social-first videos with captions, subtitles, on-screen text, and light motion graphics optimized for mobile and sound-off viewing.
• Deliver high-quality edits on tight deadlines, often publishing same-day to capitalize on breaking news and trending moments.
• Collaborate with Social Media Managers and Team Leads on clip selection, titles, thumbnails, and overall content packaging.
• Maintain The Daily Wire's brand standards while preserving each show's and talent's unique voice and style.
• Monitor content performance and apply audience insights to continually improve future edits and maximize engagement.

Experience & Requirements

• 2+ years of professional video editing experience, preferably creating short-form social content.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; experience with After Effects is a plus.
• Strong portfolio showcasing short-form video editing with a focus on hooks, pacing, storytelling, and audience retention.
• Deep understanding of platform best practices across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and X.
• Ability to work quickly under tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
• Strong editorial judgment with the ability to identify compelling moments from long-form content.
• Experience collaborating within a fast-paced team and incorporating feedback from managers and stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain a consistent brand voice while adapting to the unique style of different on-air talent.
• Experience creating motion graphics and designing social media thumbnails.
• Background editing for creator-led, talent-driven, or digital media brands.
• Familiarity with The Daily Wire's content, audience, and mission.
• Working knowledge of social media analytics, including audience retention, watch time, and click-through rate, with the ability to apply performance insights to future edits.
