Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a social media/marketing assistant for the Supplemental Instruction department. Supplemental Instruction (SI) aims to serve the UNG community by going beyond learning to studying intelligently and succeeding academically. We believe in offering an equal opportunity for students to learn, grow, and define academic success. We accomplish this by providing a fun, inclusive, and collaborative environment through peer-assisted study sessions for all students in the course. Students who attend SI sessions are guided by the SI facilitator to think critically, while on average earning half a letter grade higher than non-participants.

Responsibilities
  • The SI social media/marketing assistant will be responsible for: collecting media to be used on various university-approved social media sites; create content (in collaboration with the Film & Digital Media department) that allows for student engagement, educational material on SI services, and managing social media platforms; assisting SI administration with the UNG SI website; assist with marketing for SI program.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Experience with various social media platforms, their functions, and ability to enhance online engagement; exceptional communication skills (must be able to clearly and concisely communicate via Internet); proven success in personal social media platforms, including online engagement with subscribers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Videography skills, including editing softwares; Film & Digital Media majors OR Marketing majors are encouraged to apply.
