Full Time – 40 hours/week

Overview:

Our leading children’s media and education client is seeking an experienced Social Media & Influencer Marketing Manager to lead our organic social media, community management and influencer marketing efforts. This role will translate broader Brand Strategy, audience priorities and seasonal narratives into channel‑specific strategies and activation plans that build awareness, engagement and connection with families.

We’re looking for an experienced marketer who can step into an established function, quickly take ownership and operate with a high degree of independence. This person will lead strategy and day‑to‑day management across organic social and influencer marketing, help lead the community management function, and effectively guide agency, creative and cross‑functional partners to bring the strategy to life.

This is not primarily a content creation role. The Manager will partner closely with the internal creative team to develop social‑first content, providing clear briefs, strategic direction and channel expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
Organic Social Media
  • Develop and own organic social media strategy within the broader Brand Strategy, translating established brand positioning, audience priorities, seasonal narratives and business priorities into channel‑specific strategies and plans.
  • Lead ongoing social planning and editorial calendar development across Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn and other emerging or relevant platforms.
  • Partner with internal Creative teams to bring social strategy to life, providing clear briefs, strategic direction and channel‑specific guidance.
  • Lead content workflows, approvals, scheduling and publishing to ensure consistent, timely and brand‑aligned execution.
  • Evaluate channel performance, audience behavior and content effectiveness to identify opportunities and continuously optimize strategy.
  • Monitor platform trends, emerging behaviors and competitive activity, recommending opportunities to evolve social presence.
  • Help evolve channel roles and strategy as our team continues to optimize its social ecosystem.
Community Management
  • Help lead the community management function, working closely with an existing community management resource to ensure timely, thoughtful and brand‑appropriate engagement.
  • Oversee and contribute to monitoring and responding to comments, messages and relevant conversations as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for proactive engagement with consumers, creators and relevant communities.
  • Monitor social conversation, sentiment and emerging issues, escalating customer service, reputation or brand concerns when appropriate.
  • Help develop and evolve community management guidelines, response protocols and best practices.
  • Support crisis monitoring and response when needed.
Qualifications:
Required
  • 3–5+ years of professional social media experience, with demonstrated ownership of organic social channels.
  • Experience developing and executing social media strategy and content plans.
  • Strong experience with Facebook and Instagram; experience with LinkedIn and Pinterest preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage social media initiatives from strategy and planning through execution, publishing, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Experience developing social content calendars and briefing creative teams or content partners.
  • Experience with community management, social moderation, social listening, and customer escalation.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience reporting on social media performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple initiatives, and proactively identify opportunities.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, particularly with creative and marketing teams.
Preferred
  • Experience with influencer marketing.
  • Experience with Brandwatch or similar social listening, moderation, or publishing platforms.
  • Experience with Airtable or similar project management tools.
  • Background in consumer, retail, publishing, subscription, or other consumer‑facing businesses.
  • Experience with brand strategy, seasonal branding, or broader content strategy.
  • Experience with TikTok and/or Snapchat.
  • Agency experience supporting consumer‑facing brands.
  • Experience within children’s, family, education, or publishing industries.
What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands‑on social media leader who can take ownership of a brand’s social presence with a high degree of autonomy. They should be equally comfortable developing a social strategy, building a content calendar, briefing a creative partner, publishing content, engaging with the community, analyzing performance, and determining what should happen next.

This person should be comfortable operating in an evolving environment and bring the experience and judgment needed to help shape the future structure of the social media function.
