Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Social Media Lead based in United States.

As a Social Media Lead, you will shape the social presence of a mission-driven technology organization working on complex, high-impact challenges.

You will own the social media strategy across established and emerging platforms, defining channel priorities, audiences, voices, and growth goals.

The role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution, from creating and publishing content to engaging communities and leading integrated campaigns.

You will connect social performance to broader brand, marketing, and pipeline objectives through analytics, competitive research, and continuous optimization.

You will also develop executive and employee voices, including an executive social presence and an internal ambassador program.

Working across marketing, product, leadership, operations, and external partners, you will establish consistent standards for content, approvals, and brand safety.

This is a senior individual contributor opportunity for a proactive storyteller who enjoys ownership, experimentation, and turning ideas into measurable results.

Accountabilities
  • Own the social media strategy across priority channels, including LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, and YouTube, while evaluating emerging platforms and communities.
  • Define the objectives, audiences, voice, visual guidelines, and growth approach for each priority channel.
  • Establish meaningful social media metrics and connect channel performance to broader brand, marketing, and pipeline goals.
  • Analyze performance data, competitors, and industry trends to refine strategy and provide regular recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for paid social campaigns and define their objectives, audiences, placements, and budgets.
  • Lead the social media content calendar in collaboration with marketing, product, people and operations teams, leadership, and external PR partners.
  • Create and publish social content directly while directing designers, freelancers, agencies, and other creative partners.
  • Own day-to-day audience engagement, responding thoughtfully to comments, mentions, and messages.
  • Build a presence within relevant professional groups, forums, and online communities where customers and competitors are active.
  • Lead integrated social campaigns around major company moments, launches, events, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Manage real-time social coverage for conferences, launches, and company events.
  • Develop and grow executive social presence, beginning with LinkedIn, and align executive communications with broader brand and PR efforts.
  • Launch and develop an employee social media ambassador program, providing participants with tools, coaching, and content.
  • Create employee social media guidelines, including profile recommendations, visual assets, and best practices, and deliver training sessions to encourage adoption.
  • Establish and maintain content review, approval, escalation, and brand-safety processes, particularly for customer, product, security, and partner-related content.
  • Within the first 90 days, audit existing social channels and competitors, establish baseline metrics and growth goals, implement publishing and approval workflows, develop executive and employee social plans, and deliver an initial integrated campaign strategy.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of dedicated social media experience within a technology company, ideally in B2B technology, security, or defense technology.
  • Proven experience owning a social media program end to end and demonstrating measurable audience and engagement growth across multiple platforms.
  • Hands-on experience planning, launching, and optimizing paid social campaigns, including goals, targeting, placements, and budgets.
  • Experience developing executive and employee social presence, including executive ghostwriting, employee advocacy, or ambassador programs.
  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers, contractors, or other external creative partners.
  • Strong familiarity with social media scheduling, listening, and analytics tools, with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent judgment when determining what can be shared publicly, particularly when content involves customers, security, sensitive information, or regulated environments.
  • Ability to establish standards, coach employees at different career levels, and help senior leaders strengthen their social presence.
  • Strong communication skills and a clear strategic point of view, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and external partners.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to take ownership and solve problems directly.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills, curiosity, adaptability, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across marketing, product, leadership, operations, PR, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Experience communicating within regulated or security-sensitive environments is a plus.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and may need to meet security-clearance eligibility requirements for certain responsibilities.
Benefits
  • Salary range of $100,000-130,000 USD per year.
  • 401(k) plan with up to 5% employer contribution.
  • Fully funded health benefits, including vision and dental coverage, available for the employee and their family from day one.
  • Up to 24 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Four-week paid ramp-back program following parental leave.
  • $10,000 family-forming benefit supporting fertility treatments, adoption, and surrogacy.
  • Flexible vacation policy with no set annual limit or accrual period.
  • Summer Fridays and an extended holiday period in December.
  • Flexible remote work options, with access to three offices designed for collaboration.
  • Ability to work remotely from eligible locations for up to two months per year.
  • Individualized professional growth opportunities, including internal and external mentorship, customized goals and feedback sessions, and learning and development programs.
  • Access to leadership development opportunities and a dedicated wellness advisor.
