Job summary

The Elmhurst Park District is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern for Fall 2026 to support the Marketing & Communications Department. The role involves creating content for the District’s websites, social media, email communications, and other platforms, and assisting with campaigns.

You will photograph and video District programs, develop short-form videos, edit materials, and ensure brand consistency using Canva. The schedule is 15-19 hours per week, with pay at $15.25/hour.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong internal and external customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
• Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
• Ability to create engaging and concise social media content.
• Basic photography and videography skills.
• Basic graphic design skills and familiarity in Canva.
• Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
• Interest in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the overall functions of the Marketing & Communications department.
• Assist with creating engaging content for the District’s websites, social media channels, email communications, and other platforms.
• Photograph and record video at District programs, events, and facilities.
• Create short-form video content for social media.
• Assist with planning and developing social media content.
• Write, edit and proofread marketing materials, including news articles, newsletters, and other communications.
• Create basic graphics and promotional materials using established brand standards and templates.
• Assist with developing promotional campaigns for programs, events, facilities, and other District initiatives.
• Assist with proofreading and quality control to ensure accuracy, consistency and adherence to District.
