Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in social media, marketing, communications, content creation, or related role.
  • Experience managing social media accounts for a brand, team, organization, or business.
  • Strong skills in graphic design, photography, videography, video editing, and copywriting.
  • Experience creating short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
  • Familiarity with Meta Business Suite and social media scheduling/reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of current social media platforms, trends, formats and best practices.
  • Excellent writing, editing, storytelling and communication skills.

Position Summary

The Social Media & Content Manager manages the Lincoln Stars’ social media presence and creates engaging content that strengthens the organization’s brand, connects with fans, supports ticket and merchandise sales, and delivers value to corporate partners.


Reporting to the Vice President, this position manages day-to-day content execution across all social media platforms. The role will photograph, film, design, write, schedule, publish, and monitor content throughout the season—including live coverage of games, practices, community events, promotions, and organizational announcements.


The ideal candidate is a creative, energetic storyteller who understands social media trends, enjoys capturing compelling moments, and can manage multiple projects in the fast-paced sports and live entertainment environment.


This position collaborates with ticket sales, corporate partnerships, hockey operations, merchandise, food and beverage, and game operations to maintain a consistent and engaging Lincoln Stars presence across all platforms.

  • Provide real-time coverage of games, practices, community appearances, press conferences, and organizational events.

  • Capture and share photos, videos, highlights, player features, fan interactions, and behind-the-scenes content.

  • Write engaging, accurate, and on-brand social media copy.

  • Monitor social media trends and recommend timely, platform-specific content ideas.

  • Respond to messages, comments, and fan questions professionally and promptly.

  • Support efforts to grow followers, engagement, reach, impressions, and video views.

  • Monitor online conversations involving the organization and elevate concerns when appropriate.

  • Maintain an organized archive of photos, videos, graphics, and other digital assets.


Qualifications

Physical And Scheduling Requirements


  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during games and events.

  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor event environments.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the Lincoln Stars’ game and event schedule.

  • Ability to travel occasionally for team or organizational events.

  • Must be available for all Lincoln Stars home games and other assigned events.
