Job summary

Walbec Group is seeking a Marketing Social Media Summer 2027 Intern to document field work and craft engaging social content. You will visit jobsites, plants and events to capture stories, help edit photos and videos, and contribute to timely posts across LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

You’ll work with experienced marketers, learn to pitch ideas, and build a strong portfolio while contributing to Walbec's brand voice and safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, journalism, PR, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience creating social content through internships, jobs, student orgs, coursework, freelance work, or personal portfolio.
• Understand what makes content engaging across platforms including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
• Be comfortable capturing and editing quality photo and video content using a smartphone and tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, CapCut or similar.
• Strong, conversational communicator who can write concise social copy and approach people to uncover stories.

Responsibilities

• Get out in the field—visit jobsites, plants, shops and events to capture timely, social-first content.
• Find and tell the story by talking with team members and uncovering moments that showcase work and culture.
• Create engaging content by capturing and editing Reels, short-form video, photos and Stories for social channels.
• Bring fresh ideas, pitch concepts and recurring content series aligned with brand.
• Support our social presence by planning the content calendar and maintaining a content pipeline.
• Stay curious, follow trends and seek new ways to tell construction stories.
• Represent our team by creating authentic content reflecting Walbec's core values.
