This is a freelance role with a set 30 hours per week. Candidates should be self-motivated, able to work autonomously, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.

Working Days & Hours: Monday through Friday | 12pm to 6pm ET


What You'll Do
  • Content Planning: Assist senior editor with execution of content plans for social commerce and retail initiatives across complex core verticals- including but not limited to Music, Style, Sports, and Sneakers-on key social platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels), ensuring seamless alignment with editorial, social media, and e-commerce objectives.
  • Content Creation and Strategic Execution: Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to support the execution of shoppable content, working alongside the Senior Social Editor and vertical leads to implement platform-optimized content plans. Prioritize authentic product placement that drives both engagement and conversion. Comfortable being on-camera for shoots and social-first video, bringing a natural, relatable presence to content.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support coordination between editorial, e-commerce, and marketing teams. Assist in ensuring a consistent approach across channels to help maximize reach and impact.
  • Platform Optimization: Identify and recommend new opportunities for engagement, sales, and audience growth within the social commerce ecosystem.
Who You Are
  • Experience in Social Commerce: Proven experience in managing and executing social commerce and retail strategies across all social platforms for a large retail brand or media company.
  • Retail & E-commerce Knowledge: Strong background in retail and e-commerce, with an understanding of how social media integrates with sales funnels, product launches, and editorial content and video.
  • Content Creation Expertise: Experience working cross functionally with editorial, creative, video, and marketing teams to produce shoppable content. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Premiere Pro, and Airtable.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse teams (editorial, marketing, e-commerce, influencers) to ensure cohesive strategies that align with broader business goals.
  • Creative & Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically about content and campaigns, while also being creative in product integrations and storytelling that resonates with target audiences.
  • Trend Awareness: Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends in social media, e-commerce, and retail, with the ability to adapt quickly to new tools, technologies, and platform features.
  • Social Media Expertise: In-depth understanding of how to craft, edit, and optimize content for different platforms.
  • Social Publishing & Scheduling: Manage scheduling and publishing of content across various platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Facebook, Pinterest) using tools like Later, Sprout Social, or native platform tools. Maintain an organized publishing calendar to ensure consistency and optimal posting times.
  • Product Tagging & E-commerce Integration: Tag products effectively in posts and videos to facilitate a seamless shopping experience.

$28 - $30 an hour
The Pay Range, which consists of rate of pay per hour, for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
