Job summary

Orlando City SC is seeking a Sports Turf Specialist for the InterCo Stadium’s Orlando Health Training Ground in Kissimmee, FL. You’ll maintain three natural grass fields and one turf field, mowing, fertilizing, irrigation, and repairs, ensuring top conditions for MLS and MLS Next Pro events.

Responsibilities include disease and pest identification, collaboration with the Head Groundskeeper and Director of Turf & Grounds, and working nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of grounds maintenance-related experience, with soccer experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Turf Grass Science, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
• Florida Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (ability to obtain).
• Ability to operate turf-related equipment (tractors, mowers, aerators, field paint machines).
• Excellent written/verbal communication, detail-oriented, highly organized, multitask.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field maintenance of multiple fields to include mowing, fertilization, edging, irrigation, troubleshooting and repair, top dressing, aerating, painting, sodding, and special projects.
• Identify turf grass diseases, weeds, and pests and work with Head Groundskeeper to take corrective action.
• Collaborate with Director of Turf & Grounds to ensure field conditions meet team and MLS MLS Next Pro standards.
• Work MLS games, NWSL games and third-party events at InterCo Stadium based on business needs.
• Assist with Orlando City B game coverage at Osceola County Stadium as needed.
• Maintain good working relationships with MLS coaches and soccer operations staff.
