Job summary

Haynes Academy for Advanced ST in Metairie, LA seeks an Assistant Coach for Soccer to support the head coach and oversee the soccer program after school hours. The role emphasizes adherence to district and state rules, and effective communication with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities include equipment management, rosters, and ensuring athlete medicals and insurance as required, with some weekend duties and reporting tasks. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate or CECP completion and/or current LHSAA requirements.
• CDL Class B with P and S endorsement, no air brake restrictions.
• Must meet Louisiana Dept. of Education bus driver component.
• Employment with JPPSS as teacher/administrator per LHSAA guidelines.
• Demonstrated expertise in basic soccer fundamentals and LHSAA/JPPSS rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach in development, organization and implementation of the soccer program.
• Adhere to LHSAA, JPPSS and LHSAA rules and regulations.
• Work after school hours to prepare team for competition; some weekends/holidays as needed.
• Provide supervision and leadership, communicate with staff, students and parents.
