Job summary

Legends Global, a leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, seeks a Soccer Instructor for the ComEd Recreation Center in Chicago. This part-time hourly role involves developing curriculums and teaching soccer to participants aged 3-13 with parent participation, under supervision by the Facilities Manager.

The position requires at least one year of teaching experience, ability to maintain a SAFE environment, and strong communication with parents and guests.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year teaching experience.
• Experience working with students ages 1–5.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Ability to maintain a positive and SAFE environment for all students.
• Be able to communicate with parents and guests.

Responsibilities

• Instructs scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate and effective lessons.
• Prepares detailed lesson plans and activities.
• Leads soccer instruction according to the approved plan in a fun environment.
• Ensures equipment for practices and games is available (balls, nets, cones, etc).
• Maintains a positive, safe environment for participants, guests and parents.
• Ensures safety standards and policies are followed; reports issues to management.
• Helps players develop skills through drills and scrimmages.
• Maintains class log and attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION: Soccer Instructor-- P/T Hourly

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager

SUMMARY

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Soccer Instructor at the ComEd Recreation Center. Under direct supervision, the Soccer Instructor develops class curriculums and provides soccer instruction to participants between the age group of 3-13 years old with parent participation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Other duties may be assigned.
• Instructs scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate and effective lessons
• Prepares detailed lesson plans and activities
• Leads the instruction of soccer participants, according to the approved lesson plan, in a fun environment while teaching specific soccer techniques
• Ensures that the team has adequate equipment for practices and games including soccer balls, nets, cones, etc.
• Maintains a positive, safe, and nurturing environment for both participants, guests, and parents
• Ensures that safety standards are met, and department and facility policies are adhered
• Provides positive and professional communication with participants parents involved in program
• Ensures the safety of all participants during classes and performances, and report any problems, unsafe conditions, behavior issues and accidents to the management
• Helps players develop their skills through drills, scrimmages, and other exercises
• Maintains Class log and attendance
• Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of one year teaching experience
• Experience working with students ages 1 – 5
• Minimum age of 18
• Early childhood experience not required, but preferred
• Ability to maintain a positive and SAFE environment for all students
• Be able to communicate with parents and guests
• Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Hours and Pay

Hours: This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays. This position is year-round.

HOURLY RATE: $19.00
