Job summary

Anaheim Family YMCA is seeking a part-time Soccer Instructor to lead structured soccer classes and related sports activities for children aged 3 to 16. You will assist with participant registrations and support fundraising, events, and marketing while ensuring safe, engaging sessions.

The role requires availability weekdays 4:00 pm–9:00 pm and weekends 9:00 am–1:00 pm, with a wage of $16.90 per hour at various YMCA sites in Anaheim.

Qualifications

• Soccer instructors must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid work permit if under the age of 18.
• Experience working with children (paid or volunteer) is preferred but not required.
• CPR/first aid certification within the first 30 days of employment and kept current for continued employment.
• Criminal background check, drug and alcohol testing, health screening, and tuberculosis test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Soccer instructors provide a structured class teaching students in soccer skills and other sports in the department.
• Teach children aged 3 to 16 the basics of playing soccer, including dribbling, shooting, defending, and footwork.
• Coordinate the registration of participants.
• Assist in program duties such as fundraising, special events, and marketing.
• Ensure safety of all program participants.
• Be available Monday–Friday 4:00 pm–9:00 pm and Saturday–Sunday 9:00 am–1:00 pm.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Soccer instructors provide a structured class teaching students in soccer skills and various other sports related to the sports department.
• Soccer instructors teach children ranging in age from 3 to 16 years old the basics of playing the sport. This includes dribbling, shooting goals, defending, and footwork.
• Soccer instructors coordinate the registration of participants.
• This position is not primarily a coaching position. However, basketball staff may be periodically asked to be a substitute coach when a volunteer coach is absent.
• All sports instructors assist in the success of all sports program duties such as fundraising, special events, and marketing.
• All sports instructors ensure the safety of all program participants.
• Must be available from Monday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and from Saturday to Sunday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
• Wage: $16.90 per hour

• All potential employees must submit to and comply with all requirements for employment including, but not limited to, a criminal background check, drug and alcohol testing, health screening, and tuberculosis test.
• Employees must be CPR/first aid certified within the first 30 days of employment and kept current for condition of continued employment. The Anaheim Family YMCA periodically provides CPR/first aid training to staff who need certification.
