Job summary

CBS Sports Golazo Network in Stamford, CT is hiring an Editorial Researcher to support live match coverage, studio programming and digital storytelling. The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 1+ year of research experience, and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays in-office in Stamford.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of research experience; internships count.
• Experience covering women’s and men’s soccer and international club competitions.
• Ability to develop storylines, write content, and support live coverage.
• Knowledge of advanced soccer metrics, analytics, and statistical tools.
• Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
• Proven news judgment and ability to identify timely, relevant storylines.
• Familiarity with social media monitoring and real-time editorial decisions.

Responsibilities

• Support editorial coverage across CBS Sports Golazo Network soccer properties.
• Monitor breaking news, trends and developments in global soccer.
• Develop editorial packets, talent notes, and production materials with stats and context.
• Write scripts, teasers, headlines, talking points for live and studio shows.
• Collaborate with producers, talent, and editors to identify compelling stories.
• Provide real-time editorial guidance and statistical support during live events.
• Identify and develop storylines before and during live events for on-air coverage.
• Generate ideas for graphics, rankings, explainers and other content.
• Create content for digital/FAST platforms with rankings and news-driven segments.
• Synthesize information from stats databases, leagues and press briefings to tell accurate stories.
