Job summary

New England Revolution seeks a Soccer Data Analyst to apply advanced statistics and data science to analyze event, tracking, physical, and performance data. You will build models, dashboards, and tools to support coaching, scouting, and front office decisions, collaborating across departments and driving research initiatives.

The role requires strong Python, Excel, and data visualization skills, with experience in SQL and familiarity with soccer data platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (stats, economics, math, CS, data science) required.
• Master's degree preferred in data science, statistics, analytics, or related field.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in data analytics, data science, sports analytics, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, and data science methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and Excel; SQL and relational databases preferred.
• Experience with R, Tableau, Power BI, Git, or similar tools preferred.
• Experience with soccer event and tracking data platforms (Opta, StatsBomb, etc.) preferred.
• Ability to develop dashboards and reports for diverse audiences and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Analyze soccer event, tracking, physical, and performance data to identify trends and insights.
• Design and validate diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive models to inform coaching and recruitment decisions.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports for scouting, roster planning, and strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with Analytics and cross‑functional teams to execute research initiatives using diverse datasets.
• Develop, document, and optimize analytical code, data pipelines, and data products in Python, R, SQL, and related tools.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and integration from multiple sources and APIs.
• Present findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders and translate analyses into actionable recommendations.
• Handle special projects as needed to support organizational goals.
• Protect personally identifiable information and comply with privacy standards and company policies.
