Job summary

The Surfing Fox, located in The Pierside Hotel in Santa Monica, is seeking a Server to join our team and deliver California-inspired hospitality with energy, creativity, and a guest-first mindset.

Under general supervision, you will greet guests, take orders, serve food and drinks, manage payments, maintain cleanliness, and support our fast-paced dining room. Sage Hospitality Group backs your growth with training and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 3+ months of experience in a similar server role.
• Basic knowledge of customer service principles and restaurant operations.
• Knowledge of standard cash-handling procedures.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Vision to read checks and operate in dim lighting.
• Ability to balance and carry trays.
• Highly organized with strong multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Greets and takes food and drink orders from customers and serves them.
• Maintains attentive service and adheres to standards.
• Performs opening/closing sidework and restocking duties.
• Memorizes menu items and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations.
• Keeps restaurant, wait station, and kitchen areas clean and presentable.
• Manages guest checks and documents orders accurately.
• Processes payments and ensures accuracy of the check.
• Attends pre-meal and departmental meetings to stay informed.
• Responds to customer inquiries with timely, knowledgeable information.
• Maintains a clean, professional appearance and friendly demeanor.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
