Job summary

PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Security Analyst to join its Technology organization in a multi-city capacity (Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Birmingham, or Denver).

The role involves evaluating and mitigating alerts from SIEM and security tools, tuning SIEM to reduce false positives, extracting IOCs, and implementing effective mitigations. Strong incident response and operational security skills are expected, with a focus on risk reduction.

Qualifications

• University degree with 3+ years of relevant/direct industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, respond, and mitigate alerts from SIEM and security product suite.
• Demonstrate use of SIEM & EDR technologies.
• Assist with tuning SIEM events to reduce false positives.
• Extract IOCs and behavioral characteristics of malicious samples and implement mitigations.
• Scope events to ensure proper remediation steps.
• Provide operational support to the security organization.
• Conduct security assessments and recommend corrective actions.
