Description

Leidos' Digital Modernization sector is seeking SOC Analysts to support our effort in Alexandria, VA. Applicants must have a minimum Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI and at least 1 year of experience of incident handling/response as well as prior experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment. We are looking for analysts available for swing shift (2pm-10pm), working either Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday. These positions are 100% on-site.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Utilize alerts from endpoints, IDS/IPS, netflow, and custom sensors to identify compromises on customer networks/endpoints.
2. Perform junior- to intermediate-level review of massive log files, pivot between data sets, and correlate evidence for incident investigations.
3. Pass triaged alerts to senior-level SOC personnel and assist in identifying malicious actors on customer networks.
4. Document analysis, findings, and actions in a case/knowledge management system.
5. Support senior-level SOC personnel with the creation and distribution of incident reports to customers and higher headquarters.

Required Clearance and Certifications:

1. Must have an active DoD Top Secret security clearance or higher, and ability to obtain TS/SCI.
2. Must have DoD 8570 IAT II or higher certification (such as CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP, SANS GSEC, etc.) prior to starting.
3. Must be able to obtain DoD 8570 CSSP-Analyst certification (such as CEH, CySA+, GCIA, etc.) within 6 months of starting.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of prior relevant experience; additional military service and/or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
2. 1+ years of prior incident handling/response experience.
3. 1+ years of experience working in a SOC environment.
4. CND experience (Protect, Detect, Respond and Sustain) within a Computer Incident Response organization.
5. Demonstrated understanding of the life cycle of network threats, attacks, attack vectors and methods of exploitation with an understanding of intrusion set tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs).
6. Demonstrated sound understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth and common security elements.
7. Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings.
8. Demonstrated commitment to training, self-study and maintaining proficiency in the technical cybersecurity domain and an ability to think and work independently.
9. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
10. Willing to perform shift work, including weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Demonstrated hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data (e.g. Netflow, Full Packet Capture), and other attack artifacts in support of incident investigations.
2. In-depth knowledge of architecture, engineering, and operations of at least one enterprise SIEM platform (e.g. ArcSight, Splunk, Nitro/McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, QRadar, LogLogic).
3. Experience and proficiency with any of the following: Anti-Virus, HIPS/HBSS, IDS/IPS, Full Packet Capture, Network Forensics.
4. Experience with malware analysis concepts and methods.
5. Unix/Linux command line experience.
6. Scripting and programming experience.
7. Familiarity or experience in Intelligence Driven Defense, Cyber Kill Chain methodology, and/or MITRE ATT&CK framework.

About our Program:

Through the J6 Penetration Handling, Incident, System Health (PHISH) support services task order on the GSM-O contract, we provide IT products, services and solutions to the Pentagon and other National Capitol Region DoD offices for them to meet mission and business requirements. Our Cybersecurity team performs cyber defensive actions in support of J6, including monitoring network and end point data to prevent, detect, respond and recover from adversarial activities.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
