Job summary

Boston Government Services, LLC is seeking a SOC Analyst to monitor security operations for federal clients from Oak Ridge, TN. This full-time role focuses on incident triage, alert investigation, and case management to maintain cyber situational awareness.

Responsibilities include monitoring tools and logs, initial triage, escalation to Tier 2-3, collecting logs, and following SOPs to ensure timely detection and response. Security clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in SOC operations, help desk security support, incident triage, monitoring, or cyber operations.
• Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint alerts, cloud alerts, ticketing tools, and case management processes.
• Ability to follow SOPs, maintain accurate records, and escalate time-sensitive security matters.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial triage and classification of alerts, suspicious activity, and reported events.
• Create, manage, and update incident cases in approved Government ticketing systems.
• Escalate events requiring Tier 2-3 investigation, forensic support, policy guidance, or stakeholder action.
• Support collection of relevant logs, screenshots, alerts, indicators, and case notes.
• Identify trends in alerts, recurring event types, and operational gaps.
• Follow approved SOPs for incident detection, triage, reporting, and escalation.

• This position may be fully onsite or hybrid/remote depending on the needs of the specific contract.

Starting compensation for this role typical salary ranges between$112,814 – $132,722 annually is commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
