The Opportunity

The successful candidate will gain significant exposure to M&A, acquisitions & divestitures, capital markets, and strategic advisory mandates, while developing deep expertise across the energy sector. Key Responsibilities
- Support senior bankers in the origination and execution of M&A and strategic advisory transactions.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models, valuation analyses, transaction models, and other analytical tools.
- Conduct company, asset, and transaction valuations across the energy sector.
- Coordinate and manage financial, operational, technical, and commercial due diligence processes.
- Prepare high-quality client materials, including pitch books, investment memoranda, management presentations, board materials, and transaction documentation.
- Manage key transaction workstreams and serve as an effective liaison between clients, counterparties, advisors, and internal teams.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members while ensuring the quality and accuracy of analytical deliverables.
- Support senior bankers with business development, client coverage, and relationship-management initiatives.
- Contribute to industry research, market analysis, and the identification of new transaction opportunities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4+ years of relevant experience in Investment Banking, M&A, Acquisitions & Divestitures, Corporate Finance, or Reservoir Engineering.
- A bachelor's degree from a strong academic institution; an MBA or other advanced qualification is advantageous.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, analytical, and transaction execution capabilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and genuine interest in the energy sector, including upstream, midstream, oil & gas, or related energy markets.
- For candidates coming from a Reservoir Engineering background, strong technical expertise combined with an interest in finance, valuation, and transaction advisory.
- Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
- The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-performance, team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and the broader Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail, commercial judgment, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to clients and senior stakeholders.
