Role & Responsibilities
Keeping senior management informed by providing regular financial reports and updates on clients, including financial statements and other performance metrics. Maintaining open communication to understand needs and concerns.
- Responsible for month-end and quarter-end close, and preparation of financial statements for the D2C business.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies in line with corporate standards and internal controls.
- Coordinate tax reporting requirements, working with external tax accountants to file federal, state, sales, and property tax returns.
- Coordinate with Corporate for internal audits and with external auditors for external audits.
- Ensure accounting records and reports comply with GAAP and IFRS standards for audits.
- Handle additional projects as the company grows.
- Work cross-functionally and independently, with minimal supervision, and respond to business needs.
- Manage daily operations of the accounting department, including AR, AP, fixed assets, payroll, and inventory. Oversee payments, collections, invoicing, etc.
- Prepare royalty calculations based on contracts.
- Manage state sales tax filings using Avalara.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with accounting software such as QBO, Business Central, and e-commerce platforms like Shopify, Amazon, eBay, etc.
- Excellent communication skills to provide reassurance to clients.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- 4-6 years of experience as a US accountant, preferably in a professional services firm.
- Knowledge of accounting issues and standards, including US GAAP and IFRS.
- Practical knowledge of payroll tax, sales, and use tax.
- Availability until 9 AM PST, with flexible hours during the day.
- Preferably a CA with experience in a multinational organization and dynamic environments.
