Job summary

A popular ski resort in California is seeking a Snowsports Pro (Instructor) to provide skiing and snowboarding instruction to guests. The ideal candidate will foster a positive environment and act as an ambassador for the ski area. Responsibilities include instructing customers, teaching safety, and assisting with learning center setups. Candidates must have an intermediate level of skiing/snowboarding skills and be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Ability to ski and/or snowboard at an intermediate level or above.

Responsibilities

• Instructs customers on skiing/snowboarding skills.

Overview

The Snowsports Pro provides a positive, fun, and safe environment for skiers/snowboarders to build skills. Snowsports pros are responsible for the customer experience during lessons and being ambassadors for Mohawk Mountain whenever they are in uniform. Reports to Snowsports Supervisor, Snowsports Director.

Essential Duties

• Instructs customers on the skills of skiing/snowboarding
• Teaches skier etiquette and safe on-hill behavior
• Friendly and helpful host to mountain guests
• Assists with the set-up and take-down of learning center zones
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Snowsports

Qualifications

• Is able to effectively communicate with customers
• Is able to ski and/or snowboard at an intermediate level or above

Special Considerations

• Must be able to work for extended periods outside in all weather conditions
• Must be able to stand and work for extended periods
• Must work weekends and holidays
• Must be able to bend and lift up to 50lbs
• Must own appropriate ski/snowboard gear
