Job summary

Guest Services is hiring Snowmaker I to support our snowmaking operations on Giants Ridge. This entry-level role involves operating snowmaking gear, setting up equipment, and working outdoors in winter conditions, including overnight shifts.

You will assist with startup/shutdown, monitor snow quality, and help with safety and maintenance tasks while collaborating with a team to produce quality base snow for our slopes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Likely valid Class D driver’s license.
• Ability to learn ski area and snowmaking system layouts.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowmaking equipment including snow guns, hoses, hydrants, valves, and related components.
• Assist with setup, movement, installation, and removal of snowmaking equipment across varying terrain.
• Perform routine inspections and report maintenance and safety concerns.
• Monitor snow quality and production and make basic adjustments as instructed.
• Assist with startup, shutdown, and winter operation of snowmaking systems.
• Maintain safe work areas and follow safety procedures.
• Participate in shift meetings and communicate concerns to supervisors.
• Assist with fueling, housekeeping, and snowmaking support activities.
