Telluride Ski & Golf is seeking a Snowmaking Crew Lead to supervise daily operations, operate the snowmaking system, and coordinate with the Snowmaking Director to ensure maximum snow production. The role requires hands-on leadership, training duties, and on-call availability during the snow season.
Ideal candidates have 3+ years of snowmaking experience and technical schooling is helpful. Night and weekend work, along with varying weather conditions, are expected.
Summary
Leads crew and delegates assigned daily tasks.
Responsible for crew during their shift. Responsible for the daily direction, coordination, and evaluation of their crew members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Education and/or Experience: Three or more years of snowmaking experience. Mechanic or Technical schooling helpful.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to crew members and Management.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. May be required to ski/board ungroomed, thin, or icy terrain.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
