Job summary

Jay Peak is seeking a Snowmaking Shift Lead to direct snowmaking operations on the mountain, including equipment operation, maintenance, and control system management. You will supervise a small team and ensure safe, efficient performance while supporting guest-focused service.

This seasonal role requires supervising up to 5–7 staff, training on safety, and strong communication with mountain operations. A Vermont operator’s license and related certifications are required where applicable.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent, or 3+ years related experience.
• Ability to read & interpret safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and speak before groups.

Responsibilities

• Train employees in safe work practices and enforce safety regulations.
• Assist in implementing the resort snowmaking plan with safety and efficiency.
• Inspect and maintain snowmaking equipment and operate the control system.
• Maintain on-hill equipment safely and coordinate with mountain operations.
• Assist with hiring, evaluating, and directing staff.
