Job summary

Sugarbush Resort is hiring Snowmakers for the upcoming winter season. This entry to experienced role supports snow production, equipment handling, and quality control to ensure optimal snow coverage and guest experience.

Shifts run up to 12 hours on a 4-day-per-week schedule, with overtime possible. Night shifts from 7pm–7am pay a higher rate. Housing may be available for employees.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work long hours outdoors, overnights and in the elements.
• Must be able to lift 50–100 lbs of equipment.
• Experience with ATV/snowmobiles and basic mechanical aptitude is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transporting equipment, routing hoses, clearing guns, and setting snow guns.
• Position and start/stop snow guns to maximize snow coverage and quality.
• Work as part of a larger team per daily snow plan in outdoor conditions.

Sugarbush Snowmakers are a critical component in laying the groundwork for an amazing ski season. Please contact HR for more information.This is a winter seasonal position that runs from November until mid-February (weather dependent) and has the possibility to move into different positions around the resort after snowmaking has ended. Snowmaking shifts run 12 hours on a staggered schedule of 4 days per week, with the potential for overtime. Night shift hours are 7pm-7am and offer a higher pay rate than day shift. The pay range for this position is $18/hour-$24/hour depending on experience.RESPONSIBILITIES :This physically demanding job includes regular lifting, pulling and carrying, while working outside in sometimes extreme weather conditions.Snowmakers carefully and diligently work as part of a larger team per daily snow plan: transporting equipment, routing hoses, clearing guns, positioning/starting/stopping snow guns, and adjusting systems to maximize snow coverage and quality.QUALIFICATIONS :Applicants must be at least 18 years old.Requires ability to work long hours, outdoors, overnights and exposed to the elements.Must be physically able to move/operate equipment and able to lift 50-100lbs worth of equipment.Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and teammates.Experience with ATV/snowmobiles is preferable as is a basic mechanical aptitude.CPR/First Aid certification is highly desirable but not required.Timely and reliable attendance is essential.Sugarbush Resort is an Equal Opportunity EmployerAn offer of employment may be contingent upon the results of a background, MVR, or criminal records check
