Job summary

Sugarbush Resort, part of Alterra Mountain Company, seeks Snowmakers for the upcoming winter season in Vermont. This winter seasonal role delivers snow for guests by operating and maintaining snow guns while working as part of a larger outdoor team. Night and day shifts are available in a demanding outdoor environment.

Responsibilities include handling hoses, equipment, and multiple snowmaking systems, with overtime potential. Housing is available to employees to support the winter season.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to work long shifts outdoors.
• Physically capable of lifting 50–100 lbs and operating equipment.
• Experience with ATV/snowmobiles is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust snowmaking systems to maximize snow quality.
• Transport hoses, route lines, clear guns, and position snow guns per plan.
• Work as part of a night/day shift team in varying Vermont weather conditions.

Sugarbush Snowmakers are a critical component in laying the groundwork for an amazing ski season. Please contact HR for more information.This is a winter seasonal position that runs from November until mid-February (weather dependent) and has the possibility to move into different positions around the resort after snowmaking has ended. Snowmaking shifts run 12 hours on a staggered schedule of 4 days per week, with the potential for overtime. Night shift hours are 7pm-7am and offer a higher pay rate than day shift. The pay range for this position is $18/hour-$24/hour depending on experience.RESPONSIBILITIES :This physically demanding job includes regular lifting, pulling and carrying, while working outside in sometimes extreme weather conditions.Snowmakers carefully and diligently work as part of a larger team per daily snow plan: transporting equipment, routing hoses, clearing guns, positioning/starting/stopping snow guns, and adjusting systems to maximize snow coverage and quality.QUALIFICATIONS :Applicants must be at least 18 years old.Requires ability to work long hours, outdoors, overnights and exposed to the elements.Must be physically able to move/operate equipment and able to lift 50-100lbs worth of equipment.Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and teammates.Experience with ATV/snowmobiles is preferable as is a basic mechanical aptitude.CPR/First Aid certification is highly desirable but not required.Timely and reliable attendance is essential.Sugarbush Resort is an Equal Opportunity EmployerAn offer of employment may be contingent upon the results of a background, MVR, or criminal records check
