Job summary

Snow King Mountain Resort is seeking a dedicated Snowmaker to operate and maintain snowmaking equipment across the mountain, ensuring high-quality snow production throughout day and night shifts.

You will relocate guns, adjust water/air flow, perform routine maintenance, and support other departments as needed while adhering to safety protocols and logging all activities. Shift work and physical stamina are required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating snowmaking equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to ski or snowboard.
• Able to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowmaking equipment to create manufactured snow.
• Produce quality snow using air, water, and fan equipment.
• Relocate snow guns and hoses around the mountain as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment and log findings.
• Test snow quality and report conditions to supervisor.
• Drive snowmobiles, trucks, and ATVs as required.
• Work evening and night shifts when temperatures allow best snowmaking.

Job DescriptionThe Snowmaker is responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and snow creation across the mountain. With two shifts that run throughout the day and night, snowmakers get the opportunity to be on the mountain first and leave last. Become an expert on the mountain and get a chance to experience the first snows of the season.Responsibilities (But not limited to)Operate snowmaking equipment for creating manufactured snow from water resourcesProduce quality snow through the use of air, water, and fan equipmentConstant relocation of guns and hoses to various areas around the mountainAdjusting, turning or moving of snow guns, sometimes by hand, to maintain snowmaking efficiencyAdjusting the water and or air flow to snow gunsChanging nozzles on snow guns when necessary to maintain efficiencyConduct regular maintenance checks on equipment, including checking water pipes, fluid levels and volume, temperature controls, energy consumption, and diesel fuel systemsDocument and report mechanical/safety issues, complete maintenance logs and checklistsPerform light maintenance or repairs on equipmentShovel snow, remove snow around snowmaking equipment and other areas around the resort as neededMaintain all safety barriers, padding, and guards around snowmaking equipmentWork safely in close proximity to heavy equipment, high voltage, and high water pressuresPerform other duties as assigned while waiting for optimum snowmaking weatherWork closely with and assist other departments such as Grooming, Ski Patrol, Lift OperationsTest the quality of snow as it is made, reporting findings and conditions to the supervisorDrive snowmobiles, trucks and ATVs as necessaryWork evening and night schedules when optimal temperatures provide for the best snowmakingBenefitsPass to Snow King Mountain Resort (this includes free skiing at 13 other resorts)Access to free skiing at other resorts (must work 32+ hours a week)Discounts and pro deals and many moreQualifications:High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work requiredValid State Drivers LicenseThe ability to work in adverse weather conditions include wind, snow, iceGood communication skills and accurately follow instructionsMust be able to ski or snowboardAble to safely lift 50lbs.
