Job summary

American International Group (AIG) is seeking a Snowflake Platform Leader to own the platform's strategy, direction, and configuration. You will manage costs, develop performance and security guidelines, and drive the Snowflake Community of Practice.

The role oversees data products across domains, engages with Snowflake as a provider, and guides architecture for AI/BI consumption. We expect 10+ years of Snowflake experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years experience.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Expertise in Snowflake management, internals, billing, query tuning.
• Experience as a Cortex user for query planning and semantic layer.
• Excellent communication skills for companywide communication.
• Nice to have: Insurance domain experience.

Responsibilities

• Owns data products across business domains and base data.
• Analyze Snowflake internals to optimize cost and performance.
• Design solutions to minimize cost without reducing data availability.
• Identify bottlenecks and architect for higher performance.
• Collaborate with SMEs to manage semantic data layers for AI/BI/self-service analytics.
• Research new tech and Snowflake enhancements; lead CoP activities.
• Manage Snowflake vendor relationship and project priorities; track commitments.
• Share knowledge and best practices across the enterprise; hire top talent.
