Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Snowflake Administrator to manage enterprise-scale Snowflake environments, ensuring security, scalability, and high performance. You will collaborate with data engineers, architects, developers, and business stakeholders to support analytics, reporting, and operations.

This hybrid role requires 8+ years in data warehousing and 4+ years Snowflake administration, with strong SQL/PLSQL and cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure/GCP). Hartford, CT office attendance is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, Database Administration, or Data Platform Support.
• 4+ years of hands-on Snowflake Administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Snowflake administration, including security, RBAC, virtual warehouses, resource monitors, streams, tasks, cloning, replication, and data sharing.
• Advanced SQL and PL/SQL programming skills with experience supporting large-scale data workloads.
• Experience with ETL/ELT technologies and enterprise scheduling/orchestration platforms.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

About the role

As a Snowflake Administrator, you will make an impact by managing and optimizing enterprise-scale Snowflake environments that enable secure, scalable, and high-performing data solutions. You will be a valued member of the Data & Analytics team and work collaboratively with data engineers, architects, developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to support analytics, reporting, and business-critical operations.

In this role, you will:

• Administer and maintain Snowflake environments, ensuring security, availability, scalability, and optimal platform performance.
• Monitor and optimize Snowflake workloads, virtual warehouses, storage, and query performance to improve efficiency and control costs.
• Support data warehousing and ETL/ELT initiatives by enabling reliable data integration, transformation, and processing across multiple source systems.

What you need to have to be considered

• 8+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, Database Administration, or Data Platform Support.
• 4+ years of hands-on Snowflake Administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Snowflake administration, including security, RBAC, virtual warehouses, resource monitors, streams, tasks, cloning, replication, and data sharing.
• Advanced SQL and PL/SQL programming skills with experience supporting large-scale data workloads.
• Experience with ETL/ELT technologies and enterprise scheduling/orchestration platforms.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support experience.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

These will help you stand out

• SnowPro Advanced Certification (Administrator, Architect, or Data Engineer).
• Experience within the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification.
• Experience supporting data platform migrations, modernization initiatives, and automation programs.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $110,500 - $130,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
