Job summary

Nordea Bank Norge ASA seeks an experienced data engineer to own transformation layers in Snowflake, building robust data pipelines and reusable components for risk model development. You’ll collaborate across teams, understand data context, and contribute to testing, CI/CD, and deployment processes.

The role requires deep Snowflake knowledge, Python/Scala, Airflow, and a mindset focused on auditability and data governance within a major Nordic bank environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering with hands-on Snowflake production experience.
• Strong SQL skills including window functions, QUALIFY, MERGE, CTEs, and semi-structured data handling.
• Snowpark (Python or Scala) experience for transformation logic.
• Understanding of Snowflake execution model, micro-partitions, clustering and pruning.
• Python or Scala for pipelines and tooling.
• Airflow for DAGs, sensors, and retries.
• Git/Bitbucket with CI/CD ownership, deployments.
• Banking/financial services domain knowledge is expected.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Snowflake transformation jobs (SQL stored procedures, Snowpark, Dynamic Tables).
• Translate business requirements into clean, maintainable transformation logic.
• Own CI/CD for deliverables and environment promotion.
• Write and maintain Airflow DAGs that orchestrate Snowflake workloads.
• Contribute to data modeling decisions and schema design.
• Review code and collaborate to raise team standards.
• Understand data context for risk models and regulatory reporting.
