Job summary

CitiusTech in the United States is seeking a Snowflake Data Architect to design, build, and govern a secure, scalable Snowflake data platform with an automation-first mindset.

You will own data architecture, observability, governance, and security-by-design, enabling Iceberg tables on AWS S3 and open table formats to support interoperability, analytics, and AI/ML workloads.

Qualifications

• 12–16 years total experience, with 4–5 years hands-on Snowflake.
• Experience designing Snowflake reference architectures across multi-account/region.
• Experience with Iceberg tables and AWS S3 storage.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR compliance.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Snowflake Data Architect (Snowflake Managed Iceberg Tables, dbt, Fivetran)

Role Summary

The Snowflake Data Architect (Snowflake Managed Iceberg Tables, dbt, Fivetran) designs, builds, and governs a secure, scalable, and cost-optimized Snowflake data Data with an automation‑first mindset.

This role owns Data architecture, observability, governance, and security-by-design principles. It also enables open table format capabilities (Iceberg on AWS S3 using Snowflake-managed Iceberg tables) to support interoperable analytics and next‑generation data products.

• Strong enablement for analytics, AI/ML & cross-cloud workloads

Experience Requirement

12–16 years of total experience, with at least 4–5 years of hands‑on, relevant experience with Snowflake.

Key Responsibilities

1) Snowflake Data Architecture & Strategy

• Define and evolve Snowflake reference architectures across environments (dev/test/prod) and multi‑account/multi‑region setups.
• Database/schema strategy, naming conventions, domain alignment
• Virtual warehouse strategy (workload isolation, autoscaling, multicluster, concurrency optimization)
• Architect for scalability, resilience, cost efficiency, and operational simplicity.
• Guide adoption of Snowflake-managed Iceberg tables with AWS S3 storage.

2) Security, Governance & Compliance by Design

• Build and enforce least privilege RBAC, including Separation of Duties across develop/approve/deploy functions.
• Implement end‑to‑end security controls:
• Secure views, data contracts, and cross‑cloud secure sharing
• Implement security integrations (IAM, network policies, private endpoints) and ensure audit‑ready Data & pipeline designs for HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR, or similar frameworks.

3) Observability, Reliability & Operational Excellence (SRE Mindset)

• Design full‑stack observability across Snowflake & pipeline ecosystems:
• Warehouse utilization, concurrency, query latency
• Cost monitoring (credit spikes, workload inefficiencies)
• Build operational playbooks including:
• Incident response and escalation
• Root‑cause analysis (RCA)
• Preventative controls and self‑healing patterns
• Guide implementation of on‑call readiness, runbooks, and operational dashboards.

Preferred Skills

• Deep expertise in Snowflake internals, dbt, performance tuning & governance
• Strong understanding of Iceberg, open table formats & lakehouse patterns
• Expertise in AWS S3, IAM, networking, and cross‑cloud integration
• Strong understanding of enterprise DevOps, compliance, audit, and data governance
