Job summary

Tier4 Group seeks a Snowflake Platform Product Owner to own a growing Snowflake environment in a hybrid, Atlanta-area setting. This role focuses on deep Snowflake expertise over traditional product ownership, guiding how the platform delivers value to engineering and data teams.

The candidate will stay ahead of Snowflake releases, evaluate new capabilities, and drive cost optimization and performance improvements across the organization.

Snowflake Platform Product Owner

Were looking for a Snowflake expert to take ownership of a growing enterprise Snowflake environment and help the organization get significantly more value from the platform.

This is an individual contributor role for someone who knows Snowflake inside and out and stays ahead of where the technology is going. Youll be the person who understands new capabilities as they become available, determines where they can make a difference, and helps technical teams put them to work.

This is not a traditional Product Owner role. Deep Snowflake expertise is the priority.

What Youll Do

• Serve as the go-to Snowflake expert across the organization.
• Stay current on Snowflake releases, new functionality, and the product roadmap.
• Evaluate new capabilities and recommend where they can improve productivity, performance, scalability, or cost.
• Help teams adopt and get the most out of Snowflake capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to reduce Snowflake spend and improve platform efficiency.
• Establish practical standards and best practices for how Snowflake is used.
• Partner with data engineering, architecture, analytics, and technology teams on platform decisions.
• Provide guidance around platform architecture, performance, security, governance, and usage.
• Turn technical capabilities into practical recommendations that have measurable business impact.
• Influence teams and stakeholders without needing direct management authority.

What We Need

• Deep, hands-on Snowflake experience. You should be someone others turn to for difficult Snowflake questions.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, performance, security, governance, and cost optimization.
• A track record of keeping up with Snowflakes rapidly evolving capabilities and putting new functionality into practice.
• Experience driving adoption of platform capabilities across engineering or data teams.
• Strong understanding of modern cloud data platforms and enterprise data environments.
• Ability to connect technical decisions to productivity, efficiency, and cost savings.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both highly technical teams and senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor with significant influence.

Nice to Have

• Snowflake certification or comparable depth of expertise.
• Background in Snowflake platform engineering, data architecture, data engineering, or cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Snowflake cost optimization and consumption management.
• Experience establishing Snowflake standards or platform strategy within a large organization.
• Experience with Snowflake Marketplace or similar data distribution platforms.
• Experience in an enterprise software or technology company.

The Person Were Looking For

You may be a Snowflake architect, platform engineer, data engineer, technical product leader, or another highly technical data professional.

The title matters less than the depth of knowledge.
