Job summary

Loveland Group is seeking a Non-Certified Snowboard Instructor for the season, with weekend and holiday requirements. Pay ranges from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, with housing available for full-time staff.

Candidates must be 18+, hold a High School Diploma, and be able to teach all ages in a safe, fun mountain environment. The role involves varied duties across teaching, guest service, and facility upkeep when needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to work with all ages of students (children and adults).
• Must be able to communicate clearly and demonstrate concepts to all ages.
• Patient and nurturing demeanor required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and withstand extreme weather and high elevations.
• Intermediate snowboarding skills required.
• Basic computer skills to monitor assignments and communications.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes and private lessons with safety, fun and learning as primary goals.
• Provide content introduction, guidance, feedback, practice time and wrap up as per Loveland training materials.
• Assist students with equipment and getting off the snow if they fall.
• Demonstrate snowboarding maneuvers, including loading/unloading lifts.
• Attend instructor training as assigned.
• Follow children-specific procedures when teaching.
• Assist in other departments as needed (e.g., lift operations).

Job Title: Non-Certified Snowboard Instructor

Type of Position: Seasonal – Full-Time/Part-Time

Pay Rate: Teaching rates are between $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Actual rate varies depending on level of schedule commitment.

Summary

Provide high quality technique/tactics instruction to all ages of lesson customers, at the beginner and novice snowboarding levels. Provide instruction and guidance in the use of a variety of lifts and uphill conveyance devices safely and successfully. Every employee is responsible for providing a positive experience for our guests and employees, with safety and fun as our top priorities.

Essential Functions

• Teaching and conducting classes and private lessons with safety, fun and learning as the primary goals.
• Provide content introduction, guidance, feedback, practice time and wrap up as outlined in Loveland training materials.
• Assisting students with equipment and helping them learn to get off the snow if they fall.
• Demonstrating specific snowboarding maneuvers, including loading, and unloading lifts.
• Attending instructor training as assigned.
• When teaching children, must adhere to children’s specific procedures as described in Loveland training material.
• Work in a variety of support roles such as, serving kids lunches, maintaining cleanliness of facilities, set up & teardown of teaching areas, fitting boots, skis or snowboards, snow removal, reservation/student check in processes; be willing to occasionally perform duties in other departments such as lift operations, for example.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able and willing to work with all ages of students, kids and adults.
• Must be able to verbally communicate, demonstrate and explain concepts clearly to people of all ages.
• Must be patient and nurturing to students.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs and perform other physically demanding skills, like standing for extended periods of time in extreme weather conditions and high elevations.
• Must be able to snowboard at a technical level adequate to perform assigned job duties. Intermediate snowboarding skills are required.
• Must have basic computer skills to monitor job assignments and communications from Loveland.
