Job summary

Loveland Ski Area in Colorado is seeking a Certified Snowboard Instructor for seasonal, weekend and holiday shifts. You will provide high-quality technique and safety-focused instruction across all ability levels, and help guests enjoy the mountain responsibly.

Responsibilities include teaching classes and private lessons, assisting with equipment, and coordinating with Loveland training materials. The role requires AASI certifications, 18+ age, strong communication, and the ability to work in

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to communicate, demonstrate and explain concepts clearly to all ages.
• AASI Certification Level 1–3 required and maintained.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and endure extended periods in cold, high-elevation conditions.
• Snowboard at an advanced level to perform assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes and private lessons with safety, fun and learning as priorities.
• Provide content introduction, guidance, feedback, practice, and wrap-up per Loveland materials.
• Assist students with equipment and getting off the snow after falls.
• Demonstrate snowboarding maneuvers, including loading/unloading lifts.
• Conduct instructor training as assigned.
• Follow children-specific procedures when teaching kids.
• Support duties across departments including lift operations and guest check-in when needed.

Job Title: Certified Snowboard Instructor

Type of Position: Seasonal – Full-Time/Part-Time

Schedule: Weekends and holidays required.

Pay Rate: Teaching rates are between $21.00 - $38.00/hr. Actual rate varies depending
on experience, certifications, and level of schedule commitment.

Summary

Provide high quality technique/tactics instruction to all ages of lesson customers, at all snowboarding levels. Provide instruction and guidance in the use of a variety of lifts and uphill conveyance devices safely and successfully. Every employee is responsible for providing a positive experience for our guests and employees, with safety and fun as our top priorities.

Essential Functions

• Teaching and conducting classes and private lessons with safety, fun and learning as the primary goals.
• Provide content introduction, guidance, feedback, practice time and wrap up as outlined in Loveland training materials.
• Assisting students with equipment and helping them learn to get off the snow if they fall.
• Demonstrating specific snowboarding maneuvers, including loading, and unloading lifts.
• Conducting instructor training as assigned.
• When teaching children, must adhere to children’s specific procedures as described in Loveland training material.
• Work in a variety of support roles such as, serving kids lunches, maintaining cleanliness of facilities, set up & teardown of teaching areas, fitting boots, skis or snowboards, snow removal, reservation/student check in processes; be willing to occasionally perform duties in other departments such as lift operations, for example.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able and willing to work with all ages of students, kids & adults.
• Must be able to verbally communicate, demonstrate and explain concepts clearly to people of all ages.
• Must be patient and nurturing to students.
• AASI Certification Level 1, 2 or 3 and expected to maintain skills to the current level of certification.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs and perform other physically demanding skills, like standing for extended periods of time in extreme weather conditions and high elevations.
• Must be able to snowboard at a technical level adequate to perform assigned job duties. Advanced snowboarding skills are required.
• Must have basic computer skills to monitor job assignments and communications from Loveland.
