Job summary

BrightView Landscapes, LLC is seeking a Snow Heavy Tractor Operator for winter snow removal. The role requires prior heavy equipment experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work part-time on-call, often overnight.

You will operate a heavy tractor and support maintenance and safety procedures across multiple sites. Responsibilities include operating snowplows, reporting to work when snowfall occurs, and documenting job activities.

Responsibilities

• Remove snow using a Heavy Tractor for extended periods based on snowfall.
• Be available to report to work when it snows, including overnight shifts.
• Deposit removed snow in designated locations to avoid hazards.
• Identify and report safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Complete job sheets promptly after each snow removal operation to maintain records.
• Follow safety protocols and respond to supervisor with any issues.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

THIS ROLE REQUIRES PREVIOUS HEAVY TRACTOR OPERATOR and/or LOADER EXPERIENCE for Snow removal preferably AND A STATE ISSUED DRIVER'S LICENSE.

THE PAY RANGE FOR THIS ROLE IS $20-$30 PER HOUR. YOUR PAY RATE WILL BE DETERMINED BASED ON PREVIOUS APPLICABLE WORK EXPERIENCE AND ANY CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES YOU HOLD.

THIS ROLE IS PART-TIME; ON-CALL AND AS NEEDED, ALSO GENERALLY OVERNIGHT.

Job Summary

• The Snow Heavy Tractor Operator is responsible for performing safe and efficient snow removal operations throughout the winter season. This role involves operating snowplows and other heavy equipment to clear designated areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Remove snow using a Heavy Tractor for extended periods of time, depending on the amount of snowfall.
• Available and prepared to report to work each time it snows, either to a central location or directly to the jobsite - THIS ROLE IS PART-TIME; ON-CALL AND AS NEEDED, ALSO GENERALLY OVERNIGHT
• Deposit removed snow in appropriate locations, avoiding obstruction of trees, shrubs, fire hydrants, and sidewalks.
• Identify and report any concerns or incidents to the direct supervisor.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation by completing job sheets immediately following each snow removal operation.
• Be aware of safety issues or concerns and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform additional related tasks assigned by supervisor or manager.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License and the ability to drive to a variety of work locations in assigned territory.
• Reliable transportation to and from any work site.
• Prior experience operating snowplow equipment.
• Participate in routine maintenance of equipment.
• Experience working efficiently in a production-driven / fast paced environment.
• Ability to safely operate equipment.
• Effective communication skills.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to lift and 50 pounds.
• Be at least 18 years old (21 if operating company provided vehicles)
• Possess strong stamina and have the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Able to safely operate landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers).
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, stand, walk continuously throughout the day and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
• Able to perform manual labor using a variety of hand tools (e.g. shovels, rakes)
• You are able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, head protection)
• Landscapers who will be operating a BrightView fleet vehicle are required to have a valid driver’s license and meet company standards as it relates motor vehicle performance identified on a state issued motor vehicle record check.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed.
• Ability to work overnight in the winter month
• Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur.

Work Environment:

• Ability to work outdoors/indoors in moderate to extreme weather conditions (e.g., temperatures more than 100°F, temperatures below 32°F, various levels of humidity)
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
• Work outdoors near automotive traffic, bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical and/or electrical hazards.
• Ability to work in environments where extended periods of loud noise are present.
• Ability to work in environments where exposure to allergens such as pollen and rag weed, insects such as bees and spiders and reptiles such as lizards and snakes.
