Job summary

Ventura Services Florida is seeking a patient transporter to move patients safely and efficiently within the facility. This role requires courteous interaction with patients and adherence to care protocols.

The position is non-exempt and hourly, with responsibilities including transporting patients, delivering equipment, and supporting QAPI initiatives. A CNA license and CPR certification are preferred credentials for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient transport, medical experience and patient contact preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalency is required.
• C ACTIVE CNA license is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients by assisting patients in and out of vehicles; lifting patients on and off beds; moving them to and from special service and treatment areas; using wheelchairs or moveable beds.
• Transports equipment and supplies by picking-up requisitioned orders; delivering them to assigned treatment areas and patient care areas.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with federal and state legal regulations and requirements.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Assist in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process.

OVERVIEW

The patient transporter is directly responsible for the courteous, safe and timely movement of patients from one patient care area to another within the facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Transports patients by assisting patients in and out of vehicles; lifting patients on and off beds; moving them to and from special service and treatment areas; using wheelchairs or moveable beds
• Transports equipment and supplies by picking-up requisitioned orders; delivering them to assigned treatment areas and patient care areas
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with federal and state legal regulations and requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care center.
• Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment.
• Incumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients.
