SNF - Certified Medication Aide (CMA) - Part-Time - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

The Certified Medication Aide assists in the administration of medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the supervision of the physician, nurse supervisor or charge nurse, and the Director of Nursing Services. The administration shall adhere to established nursing standards, facility policies, procedures, and state regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow all personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Report any resident abuse or neglect immediately to the appropriate authorities.
  • Treat residents, families, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and family information.
  • Ensure timely and accurate medication administration, documentation, and storage.
  • Assist in medication charting and disposal of discontinued medications according to facility policy.
  • Support residents' self-administration of medications and monitor their safety.
  • Notify nurses of medication refills and errors promptly.
  • Be familiar with medical abbreviations and terminology related to medication administration.
Job Requirements
  • Valid CMA certification in good standing with the State.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Flexibility to work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to assist in emergency evacuations and perform essential job functions with or without accommodations.
