Dining Services in Morris University Center at SIUE is seeking applicants for Snack Bar Attendants. This position involves preparing and serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with supervision of support personnel.

What You Will Do

• Prepare and serve food items including light lunches, drinks, ice cream, hamburgers, pizza, sandwiches, and chicken, following recipes and procedures.
• Take customer orders, process payments with POS equipment, and handle cash transactions.
• Supervise food preparation, portioning, and distribution, ensuring health and safety standards.

• Greet customers warmly, check IDs, and provide friendly service.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in work areas, including sweeping, mopping, bussing tables, and trash removal.

• Requisition supplies, ensuring adequate stock of food and beverages.

• Train and supervise student assistants and other personnel in food service and cleanliness standards.

• Assist in supervising equipment maintenance and report issues.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to pass food handler's exam.
• Accurate and quick calculations for products and cash.
• Maintain simple records and forms.
• Good listening and communication skills.
• Ability to organize actions according to rules.
