Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company, EBAD, seeks a skilled SMT Technician to support our electronics value stream in Simsbury, CT. The role focuses on functional testing and inspection of PCBAs across the product lifecycle.

The technician will operate SMT equipment, read schematics, and ensure conformance to IPC/J-STD-001. A continuous improvement mindset and strong communication are essential in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

3-5 years SMT or equivalent equipment operation experience.
Knowledge of and ability to work to J-STD-001 class 3 requirements.
Flexibility to work with varying levels of procedural detail.
Must be able to read and understand process documents such as drawings, manufacturing instructions and process specification.

Responsibilities

Functional performance validation and inspection on PCBAs throughout lifecycle (DVT, QUAL, Production).
Report to production supervisor in Simsbury, CT.
Operate SMT equipment (flying probe, x-ray, rose, selective solder, and component testing).
Assemble and inspect electronics per IPC and J-STD requirements (Soldering, Staking, Coating).
Set up and maintain work cells in accordance with 5S principles.
