The Surface Mount Operator operates and maintains automated surface mount equipment.
- Prepares circuit boards to run through automated equipment.
- Operates various equipment on SMT line - Stencil Printer, Stencil Cleaner, Pick and Place, Reflow Oven, AquaStorm Cleaner.
- Assists with setup and maintenance of SMT machinery.
- Cleans SMT machinery.
- Follows work instructions and enters data.
- Understands soldering application for acceptance/rejection of board.
- Checks board with scope before passing to inspection.
- Maintains a clean work environment to ensure product integrity and quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization.

- Ability to read and comprehend work and process instructions (read/understand schematics, CAD drawings or blue prints)
- Fine motor skills, dexterity, and good eyesight
- Advanced computer skills required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous automated machinery experience preferably in an electronics manufacturing environment
- Associate's degree from tech school preferred
- Obtains and maintains basic certifications in IPC610 and JStandard001 procedures
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
- Production Environment: Requires physical capability to work in a production environment up to 9 hours a day including; sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities including; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
