Job summary

Pro-Active Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Production Lead for the electronics SMT department in Sun Prairie, WI. The role heads the SMT team on 1st and 2nd shifts, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and adherence to schedules.

The ideal candidate will coach staff, oversee shift tasks, troubleshoot equipment, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years SMT experience preferred.
• Ability to perform surface mount soldering to IPC standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and development to team members.
• Oversee daily work for direct reports and ensure alignment with schedules.
• Review nonconforming products and determine resolutions.
• Drive continuous improvement in the SMT area.
• Program layouts for scheduled production runs.
• Troubleshoot SMT equipment and processes.
• Ensure SMT maintenance and documentation is complete.
• Oversee changeovers and area budgeting.
• Lead training and mentoring of SMT staff.
