Type: Temporary to Permanent
Pay:$18-$23, based on experience
Shift:Monday – Friday,6am-2:30pm

Surface Mounted Technology (SMT) OperatorDuties:
- Reading and understanding documentation, drawings, bills of material and processes and then translating this information into the product.
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, set up functions, enter data, and/or process information.
- Developing and/or maintaining programs associated with screen printers, surface mount machines, and reflow ovens to work as an integrated system to produce quality assemblies which meet/exceed customer expectations.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to help develop and refine the work instructions (routers) during the prototype and/or production stage.
- Setting up SMT production equipment and machinery.
- Reading and understanding the different characteristics of solder paste.
- Understanding polarity/orientation, package size and values of SMT components.
- Using precision measuring tools or equipment such as calipers/micrometers, etc.
- Loading or unloading materials into the SMT equipment.
- Establish temperature profiles, program, monitor, and operate re-flow soldering equipment.
- Positioning, aligning, and adjusting PCB and component parts to facilitate assembly.
- Conducting trial runs before soldering andmakenecessary adjustments.
- Correcting problems by adjusting controls or stopping machines.
- Monitoring all aspects of machine and machine processes during the assembly process.
- Observing and listening to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
- Examining products or work to verify conformance to specifications including set-up, first articles and during the production process.
- Marking and tagging components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified.
- Maintaining production or work records.
- Attaching or marking identification onto products and/or containers.
- Cleaning and maintaining work area and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned
SMT Operator Qualifications Profile:- Professional demeanor and appearance while working within an ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 environment. Have the internal drive to do what is necessary to meet/exceed our customer’s expectations in terms of quality and delivery, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Detail oriented and possess excellent organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work constructively with individuals at all levels of responsibility within the SMT group, Engineering, sales personnel and customers.
- Basic computer skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with, or ability to quickly learn collaboration tools such as SharePoint.
SMT Operator Education and Experience:- 3 to 9 years SMT equipment operations is desirable but willingness to learn new things is important.
- Familiar with measuring instruments and devices
- Familiar with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 requirements
- Previous experience working in an electronic manufacturing environment.
