Surface Mount Technician (SMT) Operator

Sanmina has an opening for a Surface Mount Technician (SMT) Operator. As a SMT Machine Operator (for electronic assembly), you will tend to the machine by quickly and efficiently loading/replenishing feeders with reels of components, entering programs into automated placement machinery, and prepping for the next build with the primary goal being to maximize machine productive time.

Nature of Duties:

Requirements/Responsibilities

• Proficient in the setup and operation of SMT screen printers, automatic and semi-automatic pick-and-place systems and reflow ovens
• Ability to understand and implement SMT operations per drawings and assembly procedures
• Ability to perform tasks using a microscope
• Attention to detail in the preparation for and SMT assembly of complex PCBs
• Strong soldering skills with both through-hole and SMT components
• Certifications to J-STD-001 and J-STD-001 Space Addendum are a plus
• Good communication skills

Education and Experience:

• Previous experience as an SMT Operator in Electronic Manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of Surface Mount Technology processes and equipment
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• High School or GED
