Job summary

Minerals Technologies Inc. seeks a Steel Mill Service Manager to lead all service operations in the USA Northwest Indiana region. This role requires travel and focuses on safety, operations, and customer-focused service delivery.

The ideal candidate has five+ years in refractory sales or steelmaking manufacturing, strong leadership, and a proven track record in sales and business development. Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Business/Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in refractory sales or industrial manufacturing (preferably steelmaking).
• Prior experience supervising a work group.
• Strong knowledge in sales, marketing, and business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all safety requirements of the Steel Mill Service force.
• Managing shop operations and SMS group functions (safety, performance management, equipment maintenance, parts, inventory, payroll).
• Drives Operational Excellence and identifies key metrics.
• Oversee financial performance of Field Operations and cost control.
• Provide monthly reporting on Field Operations.
• Develop relationships with customers and MINTEQ departments.
• Staff projects and material trials.
• Coordinate with HR on policies and union contracts.

Position:Steel Mill Service Manager

Location:USA | Northwest Indiana

Summary

The Service Manager role is responsible for all Steel Mill service operations in the designated region.

This position will require travel.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all safety requirements of the Steel Mill Service force
• Managing shop operations, including overseeing the functions of the SMS group (safety, performance management, equipment maintenance, parts, material inventory and payroll).
• Drives Operational Excellence
• Identifying and implementing key metrics outlined by the business unit
• Financial performance of Field Operations including Steel Mill Service cost control
• Provide monthly reporting on Field Operations
• Developing close working relationship with entire customer base and MINTEQ departments, and fully understanding their requirements
• Provide staffing for projects and material trials
• Works closely with HR on company policies and union contracts
• Other duties, as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Minimum of five years’ experience in refractory sales or industrial manufacturing (preferably steelmaking). Prior experience supervising a work group. Working Conditions: Must be able to withstand the physical pressures of standing, walking, climbing steps, sitting, extremes of hot and cold, as well as being in a dusty, dirty industrial environment. Must be able to gather organize, and analyze data, draw conclusions, and handle stress. Must wear safety equipment where required.

Travel is a requirement of the position. Must possess a valid driver's license.
