Job summary

Minerals Technologies Inc. is seeking a Steel Mill Service Manager to oversee all service operations in the USA Western Region (Utah/Arizona/Nevada). The role requires travel and strong leadership in refractory sales and industrial manufacturing.

You will drive safety, performance, and cost controls while coordinating with MTI divisions. Required are 5+ years in related industries, a Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Business/Engineering, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in refractory sales or industrial manufacturing.
• Experience supervising a work group and leading teams.
• Strong sales, marketing, customer service and business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all Steel Mill service operations in the designated Western region.
• Ensure safety requirements for the Steel Mill Service force are met.
• Manage shop operations and the SMS group (safety, performance, maintenance, inventory, payroll).
• Drive operational excellence and monitor key business metrics.
• Provide monthly field operations reporting and coordinate with MTI departments.
• Staff projects and support material trials; work with HR on policies and unions.

Position:Steel Mill Service Manager

Location:USA | Western Region - Utah/Arizona/Nevada

Summary

The Service Manager role is responsible for all Steel Mill service operations in the designated region.

This position will require travel.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all safety requirements of the Steel Mill Service force


• Managing shop operations, including overseeing the functions of the SMS group (safety, performance management, equipment maintenance, parts, material inventory and payroll).


• Drives Operational Excellence


• Identifying and implementing key metrics outlined by the business unit


• Financial performance of Field Operations including Steel Mill Service cost control


• Provide monthly reporting on Field Operations


• Developing close working relationship with entire customer base and MINTEQ departments, and fully understanding their requirements


• Provide staffing for projects and material trials


• Works closely with HR on company policies and union contracts


• Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Minimum of five years’ experience in refractory sales or industrial manufacturing (preferably steelmaking). Prior experience supervising a work group. Significant knowledge and experience in sales and marketing, customer service, and business acumen. Good leadership, management, interpersonal and communication skills. Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related field.

Working Conditions: Must be able to withstand the physical pressures of standing, walking, climbing steps, sitting, extremes of hot and cold, as well as being in a dusty, dirty industrial environment. Must be able to gather organize, and analyze data, draw conclusions, and handle stress. Must wear safety equipment where required.

Travel is a requirement of the position. Must possess a valid driver's license.
