Job description

DescriptionUnder the direction of the Dietary Director the cook is responsible for preparing food that will be served to patient, staff, employees and visitors of SMRMC Health System. The Dietary Cook is responsible for all meal preparations based on the needs and orders from the physician concerning their patients. Must be able to adjust recipes based on the needs of the patients. At all times the cook must make sure the work area is clean and sanitary, for the preparation of food. As determined by the Director of Dietary the Dietary Cook works 80hrs. per pay period and rotates every other weekend. The hours of work are Sunday thru Saturday 5:0 am to 1:30 pm for the day shift and 10:30am to 7:00pm for the evening shift. The Dietary Cook is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures and regulations for the organization. Must be able to work and relate in a professional non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients and visitors. Attendance to yearly mandatory education is non-negotiable and will be the responsibility of the employee to schedule and attend sessions.
