Job Description

The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Receive repair orders from dispatcher and take to stall area.
  2. Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  3. Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
  4. Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  5. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  6. Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
  7. Notify service advisor immediately if additional work outlined is not needed or required.
  8. Notify service advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
  9. Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician, keeping in mind that the customer vehicle should not be used for personal errands.
  10. Attend factory-sponsored training classes.
  11. Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
  12. Keep shop area neat, clean, and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
  13. Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
  14. Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
  15. 2+ years of proven experience in a dealership or similar automotive repair setting.
  16. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  17. Knowledge of automotive systems, components, and repair procedures.
  18. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  19. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  20. All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
  21. All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. ASE certifications

Compensation (Hourly: Flat-Rate Union Scale):

  1. $20.50 to $44.50/hour
    • Based on experience and certifications
  2. Bonus pay up to $3.50 per flat rate hour.

**The Technician Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $20.50 and $44.50 / hour**

Schedule:

  1. FULL TIME
  2. 5 days a week / 2 days off
  3. Weekend availability required
  4. Sunday off
  5. Paid Time Off accrual
