Job Title: SMOC Ops Apps Analyst
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 Months

Rate: $50/hr on W2

Summary

The Career IT Application Operations Analyst performs basic to intermediate tasks under the supervision of a senior Application Operations Analyst. They follow Work Instructions and processes as outlined in Run Books and Playbooks. They apply technical skills to resolve application and data-related issues within a well-defined scope, escalating complex problems to more experienced team members. They may develop solutions and begin to scope work, adhering to Application Development Frameworks, Coding Guidelines, and Database Standards during development.

Job Duties
  1. Analyze existing SmartMeter application interfaces and tools, prepare logical models and procedures, create SQL code and scheduling scripts, and test/debug application interfaces and tools.
  2. Diagnose, isolate, and correct data and performance faults.
  3. Prepare and seek approval for system and development documentation.
  4. Execute planned and ad-hoc maintenance to ensure continuous system operations.
  5. Analyze, debug, and diagnose bugs, incidents, and exceptions in SmartMeter applications and processes.
  6. Identify and correct discrepancies in data within the SmartMeter systems.
  7. Communicate with users, stakeholders, and team members regarding request progress and incidents.
  8. Oversee 24-hour clock package processing to ensure timely bill delivery, meeting SLAs.
  9. Support and recommend solutions for failed processing of clock packages to ensure accurate billing and customer web presentation.
  10. Develop conversion and implementation plans.
  11. Assist in defining, developing, and documenting business requirements for SmartMeter systems in collaboration with internal teams.
  12. Propose procedural, process, and tool enhancements based on current experiences.
  13. Communicate professionally and clearly, including non-technical audiences.
  14. Interact with suppliers and contractors as needed.
Knowledge / Abilities
  • Familiarity with infrastructure components such as Linux servers, networks, backups, and Oracle databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple departments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, troubleshooting applications and infrastructure technologies, and providing operations support and analysis for large-scale, complex systems.
