Job summary

Wolfe Research in New York City seeks an Equity Research Associate for SMID Biotech to analyze drug development, clinical data, and literature to support investment theses. The role requires strong finance concepts, data handling, and effective written communication in a fast-paced setting.

The candidate should have biotech familiarity, a scientific BA/BS, and potentially advanced degrees. Competitive base salary with discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• BA/BS required, concentration in a scientific area relevant to the job
• MBA, CPA, PharmD or PhD in a scientific area relevant to the job is not required, but is a plus
• Demonstrated academic ability with a minimum 3.5 GPA

Responsibilities

• Analyze drug development and clinical trial design/data analysis.
• Deep analysis of scientific literature to inform investment theses across immunology, cardiovascular and genetic diseases.
• Apply corporate finance concepts including 3-statement modeling, forecasting, and valuation techniques.
• Source and process information from large data sets in Excel/Access; work independently.
• Generate ideas and communicate effectively in a time-sensitive environment; balance priorities; strong writing and organizational skills.
• Follow the stock market and develop industry themes.
• Utilize Bloomberg and/or FactSet; advanced Excel skills.
• Write concisely with correct grammar.
• Work 10+ hour days and some weekends.
