Job summary

The Biltmore Los Angeles is seeking a Host/Cashier to deliver an exceptional guest experience at our Smeraldi's venue. You will greet guests, manage reservations, escort guests to tables, and coordinate with restaurant staff to ensure smooth service.

You will also handle POS transactions and maintain a welcoming host station in a luxury setting. Ideal candidates have hospitality passion, ownership, and a solutions-oriented mindset, with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience as a host/hostess, cashier, or in a customer service or hospitality role preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a professional, welcoming first impression.
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements to maximize dining room efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Escort guests to their tables and present menus while communicating daily specials and restaurant information.
  • Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth guest flow and timely table turnover.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, respond to guest inquiries, and assist with reservations and restaurant information.
  • Operate the POS system to process guest payments accurately, including cash, credit card, and room charge transactions.
  • Balance cash drawer and complete end-of-shift reconciliation according to company procedures.
  • Address guest concerns professionally and elevate issues to management when necessary to ensure exceptional service recovery.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand, entrance, and lobby areas.
  • Monitor dining room capacity and communicate seating updates with management and service staff.

Education
